It's unclear whether Relic is in charge of development

It seems that video game publisher SEGA might be getting ready to announce a new entry in the very popular Dawn of War series, with the company recently registering the official site that would be associated with it.

The Who Is query associated with it does not offer any sort of details about the title or about the moment when an official reveal might take place.

Some companies recently had trouble with their official sites, leaving the registration process too late and finding that squatters have already taken them and are now asking for money in order to transfer them to the publishers that should use them.

SEGA might have moved earlier than others, and that could mean that an announcement will not be offered before the end of the year or even early 2016.

It's unclear whether development duties for the new Dawn of War 3 will be handled by Relic or if another studio is being brought it to create the title.

The series has managed to get a solid following with its two very different entries, and it will be interesting to see how a third game changes the core mechanics.

Dawn of War offers a very solid take on Warhammer 40,000

The Games Workshop created universe features a range of races, each with its unique characteristics and units, which are constantly fighting for control over stellar systems, using both huge fleets and incredibly powerful ground forces.

The first Dawn of War dispensed with resource gathering to focus on control points and on the creation of increasingly powerful forces to keep enemies at bay.

The second title in the franchise focused more on the heroes that each faction can field, with a complex upgrade path for each of them and faster and more focused gameplay.

The multiplayer was also more engaging, and there are still gamers who are playing.

At the moment Relic is working on Company of Heroes 2, the World War II real-time strategy experience, but recently no new downloadable content was announced for the game, which means that the core resources of the company might be linked to another title.
