The popular darktable open-source and cross-platform RAW image editor software has been updated today, March 29, 2016, to version 2.0.3, the third maintenance release in the stable 2.0 series of the software.

According to the release notes, darktable 2.0.3 is mostly a bugfix version that resolves a small memory leak, an OpenCL bug in the tonecurve component, an issue in the color reconstruction functionality, the params introspection for unsigned types, and some scrolling problems with the histogram, when changing the exposure.

The restricted histogram issue that occurred when attempting to color pick an area was resolved as well, the error messages displayed in the command-line version of the application (darktable-cli) have been improved, printing is now possible via the Ctrl+P keyboard shortcut, and the software only depends on Glib 2.32.

"We're proud to announce the third bugfix release for the 2.0 series of darktable, 2.0.3! The GitHub release is here: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/releases/tag/release-2.0.3. As always, please don't use the autogenerated tarball provided by github, but only our tar.xz," the developers have explained.

New digital cameras are now supported

Besides all the changes mentioned above, darktable 2.0.3 adds base support for the Fujifilm X70, Olympus PEN-F, and Panasonic DMC-LX3 (1:1) digital cameras, along with noise profiles for the Canon EOS 5DS R, Fujifilm X20, and Olympus E-PL6 digital cameras.

Also, white balance presets have been added for the Canon EOS 1200D, Canon EOS Kiss X70, Canon EOS Rebel T5, Canon EOS 5DS, Canon EOS 5DS R, Canon EOS 750D, Canon EOS Kiss X8i, Canon EOS Rebel T6i, Canon EOS 760D, Canon EOS 8000D, Canon EOS Rebel T6s, Fujifilm X-Pro2, Fujifilm X20, Fujifilm X70, and Olympus PEN-F cameras.
