It took him an entire year to put it together

When he took his son to see “Transformers,” Wang Liansheng of Suqian, China, probably didn't think the boy would fall head over heels in love with the ginormous robots. And yet he did.

So much so that he asked his dad for a machinery just like the ones in the movie, Inhabitat reports.

At first, Wang Liansheng did what any other father would have done and simply bought him a toy model. Still, the boy wasn't all that impressed and demanded a bigger version.

Since they don't make toys the size of buses, the man was left with no choice but to build one himself.

Wang Liansheng began work on his son's life-size Bumblebee in last year's August. All the components are scrap car parts that he recovered from a local junk yard.

The homemade robot is now complete and stands a staggering 10 feet (nearly 5 meters) tall. What's more, its girth is one of about 10 feet (3 meters) and it weighs around 3 tons.

Admittedly, it can't throw rockets or morph into different shapes, but Wang Liansheng's son seems quite satisfied with the outcome. After all, this toy of his is definitely unique.

The man, a welder by profession, is now working on putting together a life-size replica of Optimus Prime. He's even considering turning this hobby into a proper profession.

“I'm thinking about the future. If this becomes big in the future, I will be able to hire seven or eight workers,” Wang Liansheng said in an interview.
