14 DAY TRIAL // It's been more than a year since the release of CRUX 3.1, so the developers of the Linux kernel-based operating system have announced that the first Release Candidate of the upcoming CRUX 3.2 distribution is now available for download and testing.
Unfortunately, CRUX 3.2 RC1 comes without release notes, but if you're curious to know what the developers are planning for the final release of the operating system, we recommend that you take a look at their to-do list, where you might discover some important details about the upcoming changes.
"The CRUX team is pleased to announce the availability of a first release candidate for the upcoming CRUX 3.2," says Matt Housh. "Please note that this is a release candidate, NOT the final release. Please test it if you have a chance and report any problems you find to us!"
As usual, those interested in taking this development version of the upcoming CRUX 3.2 Linux distribution for a test drive can download the CRUX 3.2 RC1 (Release Candidate 1) ISO image right now from Softpedia, write it on a USB stick or a CD disc, and boot it from the BIOS of your computer.
Known issues you should be aware of
Being a development release and all that, CRUX 3.2 Release Candidate 1 comes with a few known issues. For example, elilo is currently broken, and the xorg-libxxf86vm dependency is currently missing from the Mesa 3D Graphics Library, so it is recommended that you install another package that depends on xorg-libxxf86vm.
