Clement Lefebvre and the great team of developers behind one of the most acclaimed, modern, and lightweight open-source desktop environments for GNU/Linux operating system published a new maintenance release for Cinnamon 2.6.

Cinnamon 2.6.9 comes approximately one week after the release of the Cinnamon 2.6.8 desktop environment for the upcoming Linux Mint 17.2 (Rafaela) operating system and fixes many annoying issues reported by users.

According to the changelog, which has been attached at the end of the article, Cinnamon 2.6.9 addresses errors in signalManager.js related to disconnecting of JS (JavaScript) objects, and patches a potential crash in the cs_themes.py file.

The duplicated information about the battery in the Power section of the Cinnamon Settings has been fixed, along with a typo in the code. Text is now displayed for the Keyboard applet if no icon is found, and the cjs 2.6.2 package is now required.

Additionally, the Photoframe desklet has been modified to adjust the size of an image only after it has been fully loaded, and a notification is received that the size of the respective image has been changed.

Cinnamon 2.6.9 will be available to all Linux Mint 17.2 users

In addition to the changes mentioned above, Cinnamon 2.6.9 brings some needed under-the-hood improvements to the Cinnamon Settings panel, especially related to the navigation of the settings pages, and it adds a missing runtime dependency.

The built-in multi-monitor functionality has been adjusted to place various modal dialogs, such as the About dialog, on the display where the mouse cursor is instead of the one that included the last focused window.

Last but not least, an issue that caused the panels and desklets to not get focus when there's a full-screen window on the primary display has been fixed in Cinnamon 2.6.9, which should be available to all Linux Mint 17.2 (Rafaela) users very soon.
