It's unclear how much of the game will be offered for free

It seems that developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are getting ready to announce that Battlefield Hardline is set to be added to the lineup of titles that are part of the EA Access service on the Xbox One at some point in October.

The information comes from a Reddit post from a user who has seen a teaser for the game on the home console.

So far, Electronic Arts has not offered official confirmation on the matter and it's unclear whether the company is planning to deliver access to all of Battlefield Hardline or just the base game.

The smart business move is to offer the core experience for free and to give players a chance to pick up the two launched downloadable content packs for a reduced price in order to get access to extra maps, modes and more weapons.

The Season Pass will also continue to be offered separately for those who want early access to some content.

Battlefield Hardline is set to get access to two other DLC packs in the near future, and being part of EA Access will certainly allow the shooter to reach a wider number of players.

The Xbox One-based service is also currently home to free versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, FIFA 15, and other titles from Electronic Arts.

EA Access might soon come to the PC

The Xbox One version of the service allows players to play all the games that are in the Vault for free and also offers them early access to major launches, including the likes of FIFA 16.

Users can also pay less for both full titles and DLC, but they do have to deal with a subscription of 5 dollars or Euro per month or 30 dollars or Euro a year.

Recently, Electronic Arts has suggested that gamers will be able to also get an EA Access-like experience on the PC, which will be linked to the Origin service.

Battlefield Hardline will continue to get support from Visceral Games for a long period of time, and publisher internal documents have confirmed that a new title in the franchise is expected to launch in 2016, with DICE in charge of the development process.

UPDATE: The news was confirmed by the Electronic Arts team.
