A free Warner Bros. game could arrive as compensation

A brand-new report has appeared online claiming that Batman: Arkham Knight PC users who haven't asked for refunds following the game's array of problems are going to receive either a free Season Pass for the title or a free game published by Warner Bros.

Batman: Arkham Knight launched on June 23 worldwide across PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. While console users were delighted with the title, the PC version was crippled by huge performance issues and many other glitches.

Since then, publisher Warner Bros. has suspended the game's sale and pledged alongside developer Rocksteady to fix the game as soon as possible.

Potential compensation includes free Season Pass or a full game

While Warner Bros. hasn't talked about any potential compensation for PC users who don't request a refund for Batman: Arkham Knight, it seems that the publisher is already talking to retailers about just such a strategy.

The report arrives via Reddit, as one user has talked with a GameStop employee who says that Warner Bros will soon offer to PC users either a free Season Pass or a free Warner Bros. game.

More specifically, the publisher currently asks retailers, like GameStop, to offer a full refund to any PC owner of Batman: Arkham Knight if they want such a thing. All physical copies of the game are also being shipped back to the publisher.

Those that decide to keep the game they bought are eligible to receive a free Season Pass, which includes all of the game's future downloadable content packs, or can opt to get a free title published by Warner Bros.

A list of eligible games isn't available, but they could include things like Mortal Kombat X or Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

As of right now, however, this is still a rumor, as Warner Bros. hasn't mentioned anything about making up for the poor Batman: Arkham Knight PC launch.
