Apple has updated its OS X Recovery utility for users of the pre-release version of the anticipated OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system, available now via the Mac App Store application.

OS X El Capitan Recovery is an improved version of the OS X Recovery utility, which has been specifically designed for the OS X El Capitan operating system and recommended for all users of said OS.

The OS X El Capitan Recovery tool for Mac helps you reinstall the OS X El Capitan operating system, restore the OS to a previous state from a Time Machine backup, as well as to repair your disk drive in case of a failure.

The updated OS X Recovery tool is available right now on the Mac App Store for users of Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. To update, open the Mac App Store application, go to the Updates tab and wait for the list of updates to be refreshed.

When you see the new OS X El Capitan Recovery Update 2.0 entry, click the "Update" button in front of it and wait for the software to be downloaded and installed. That's it, no restart is required for this update.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan arrives later this year

We remind everyone that Apple seeded the fifth Public Beta build and the seventh developer preview release of OS X 10.11 El Capitan on Wednesday, so you should update to these latest versions if you're running a previous Beta build of OS X El Capitan.

The final version of the Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) operating system should see the light of day later this year. It will be distributed as a free update to all users of the Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) operating system through the Mac App Store application.
