New info emerges on Apple’s 4-inch iPhone

The 4-inch iPhone should debut in approximately one month, so new information about the device arrives almost every day, although it’s worth mentioning that not all reports are likely to be accurate.

New speculation reveals that Apple’s new iPhone will come with a hot pink color instead of the company’s super premium rose gold version, which will reportedly remain an option exclusively available on the more expensive models.

This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about more color options for the iPhone, and it certainly makes sense for a more affordable model, especially given the fact that Apple adopted a similar strategy for the 5c and offered a colorful lineup.

Interestingly, the color will be one way to differentiate iPhone models, so when you see a hot pink phone on the street, you’ll instantly know it’s a 4-inch version.

iPhone 5se or iPhone 6c

Even though we’re getting closer to the March unveiling of the device, it’s still unclear how Apple plans to call the new iPhone.

Contradictory reports from people close to the matter have claimed that the company wants to name the iPhone either 5se or 6c, but the latter certainly makes more sense, given the fact that Apple obviously wants the device to feel fresh and modern. A 5se designation could lead to an outdated feel, so the chances are that the 6c moniker could be used.

As far as the specs are concerned, the 4-inch screen will hide either an A8 + M8 CPU combination or an A9 + M9 mix, with the latter again making more sense in the long term. Even though it’ll be smaller than the current models, the new iPhone is not supposed to lag behind them in performance, so offering similar hardware specs is a must.

On the other hand, some premium features won’t be offered, including Touch ID, which will remain exclusively available on the bigger models.

If recent reports are true, the unveiling of the new model could take place on March 15, when Apple is expected to also present the iPad Air 3 and new Apple Watch versions and bands.
