Apple has just published a new entry in their Developer News and Updates feed recommending all iOS developers to get all their apps ready for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus 3D Touch capabilities.

Last night during the September 9 "Hey Siri" keynote, Apple unveiled their latest iPhone models that feature new displays with 3D Touch technology, which allow them to sense the exact amount of pressure the user applies and to detect the tiniest differences for providing users with various types of actions for each level of pressure.

Moreover, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus now come with new multi-touch gestures named Pop and Peek, which are designed from the ground up to allow the user to experience a whole new level of interactivity with iOS apps that support these new gestures.

The user can preview various types of content using Peek with a simple light press while, when pressing a little deeper, the Pop gesture comes into play effectively allowing one to rapidly open the content with no extra actions.

Another usage for the new 3D Touch tech is to help iPhone users streamline their day-to-day workflow with the help of the Quick Actions feature designed to make it easier to perform the exact same tasks but in fewer and faster steps.

Apple provides a list of development resources for developers that want to freshen up their iOS apps to add 3D Touch support at the bottom of the iOS 3D Touch presentation page.

It is also important to know that the latest Xcode 7 and iOS 9 GM seeds are required for developers to be able to take advantage of the new APIs with support for 3D Touch actions. They can be downloaded from the Xcode download page on Apple's Developer Portal.
