Today, Apple has started seeding the fourth Beta of the second maintenance release for its Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan computer operating system to public testers and developers enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program.

Apple is working around the clock to fix bugs in the Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system by publishing new point releases. Mac OS X 10.11.2 is the second point release for the El Capitan series, and it promises to add even more under-the-hood improvements.

At the moment of writing this article, Apple published no details or release notes for the Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 Beta 4 software update, but being a pre-release version of OS X 10.11.2, it comes with a huge warning not to install it on production machines where stability is of the essence.

Here's how to test this Beta build of Mac OS X 10.11.2

Public testing means that anyone who has a Mac can switch to the Beta channel and install the latest development builds of the upcoming Mac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan update, but first you will need to enroll your Apple ID into the Apple Beta Software Program.

For that, please visit the Apple Beta Software Program website, enter your Apple ID, select the OS X platform, and enroll your Mac. Then, you will receive a code that needs to be redeemed in the Mac App Store application to be able to access the Beta downloads.

Now, with the Mac App Store opened, go to the Updates tab and wait for the list of updates to be refreshed. You should be able to see the new Mac OS X 10.11.2 Beta 4 build, so click the "Update" button in front of it to start downloading. Once the download process is finished, you will have to restart your Mac.
