Apple is expected to take the wraps off its new 4-inch iPhone later this month, and new information reaching the web via unofficial channels points to new capabilities that will be available on the device.

The so-called iPhone SE could feature 4K video recording capabilities, AI writes, which could be further confirmation that the device won’t really be underpowered when compared to the current models available on the market.

Apple is reportedly working on ads for the new iPhone, including videos that would specifically put these 4K video shooting features in the spotlight. The company has used several locations to highlight the iPhone SE capabilities, including New York, where it produced an ad just last week.

Hardware specs

iPhone SE is expected to come not only with a 4-inch screen but also with several parts that are currently being used on the iPhone 6s. For example, several sources have revealed that Apple intends to use the same A9 and M9 processors from the current iPhone, as it wants the device not to feel underpowered and be able to run the latest software flawlessly.

Previously, it was believed that the SE would only be a minor upgrade over the iPhone 5s, but it appears that what Apple wants is to bring out a new smaller device that would offer almost the same capabilities as the more expensive siblings.

The iPhone SE, however, will lack some of the features available on the 6s, including 3D Touch. This is one of the things that Apple wants to keep exclusive on the top-of-the-range iPhones.

Certainly, more information will be provided on March 21, when Apple will finally take the wraps off the new model, alongside what’s expected to be a new iPad, plus new bands for the Apple Watch (not to be mistaken for the Apple Watch 2, which is projected to arrive at a later date).
