Ever wanted to take a shower while holding a phone in hand?

The iPhone 7 is expected to debut next year with several innovations (as the Apple community usually calls the improvements made to iDevices) and one of them could be complete waterproofing of the phone.

Rumor has it that Apple wants to make the iPhone 7 waterproof, so if you ever dreamed of showering with your phone in hand or playing Candy Crush Saga while taking a bath, this could be really good news for you.

But it's worth knowing that this is still in the very early rumor stage, so don't take anything for granted. Usually, there's plenty of speculation every time Apple starts working on a new device, and iPhone 7 is no exception either.

The waterproofing report comes from Digitimes, who says that the first to disclose the information was a research firm, which was then cited by Commercial Times. That's right, there are several sources that cannot be verified, so that's why it's important to take this with a healthy pinch of salt until Apple confirms it. If it's real, of course. But this could certainly be big.

The upcoming iPhone 7

There's a lot of talk about the time when the iPhone 7 could land and there are people familiar with Apple’s plans who say that the company is no longer planning to stick to its usual fall release schedule, but bring out the new model sooner.

This means the iPhone 7 could come in the summer, most likely in June or July, if this information is accurate. It'll feature an LCD screen (OLED won't arrive until iPhone 8 the earliest), plus an improved chip, 3D Touch and improved Touch ID.

Word has it that Apple wants to make it thinner and lighter than the current model, so the device could actually come with a smaller battery, but with plenty of software optimizations to compensate.
