When good looks make everything better...

Apple's 12.9-inch and 1.5 lb (700 grams) iPad Pro was announced on September 9 and should be released in November, for a price starting at $799 for the 32 GB Wi-Fi only model and $1,079 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular 128 GB.

Meanwhile, Microsoft already has its Surface Pro 3 on the market, a 12-inch and 1.7 lb (800) behemoth, priced at $799 for the 64 GB entry model and $1,949 for the 512 GB model.

Even though we can't actually put them next to each other for now, Dutch designer Martin Hajek has created a set of renderings that should make it easier to make the difference between how the two of them match up.

Hajek has created the renderings using 3D models of both devices, and if they're exactly up to scale, Apple's iPad Pro seems to be the winner in the looks department.

iPad Pro's design makes it stand out

When placing the Surface Pro 3 on top of the iPad Pro, the difference in size is quite obvious, with the latter being both larger and slimmer than Microsoft's device.

iPad Pro's design makes it look like a Surface Pro that has just got out of a makeup session, while Microsoft device's straight and bulky edges hint at the side of a laptop, which probably is the main reason it is also known as a laplet, a crossover between a laptop and a tablet.

Furthermore, the Apple Pencil has just the right design elements to be considered a tablet stylus, while Surface Pro's Pro Pen looks more like a pen than a stylus.

Granted, both draw one's attention with their design, but Microsoft's Pro Pen will make you reach for it to jot down a quick note if your pen is out of ink.
