After five Beta builds, Apple has released the final version of the anticipated Mac OS X 10.11.2 update for the El Capitan series, available now in the Mac App Store for all supported Macs.

OS X 10.11.2 is the second maintenance release for El Capitan, and according to Apple, it improves the security, stability and compatibility of your Mac. It is a recommended update for all users (see below for update instructions).

Among the changes introduced by Mac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan, we can mention improvements to the Wi-Fi, AirDrop, and Handoff reliability, as well as better support for Bluetooth devices, which will no longer get disconnected.

Furthermore, the Mail app has been enhanced as well, and it now lets users delete emails in an offline Exchange account. Also, the iCloud Photo Sharing feature has been updated to support Live Photos.

In addition to all of the above, Mac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan addresses an issue that could have prevented users from importing their photos from an iPhone device to a Mac through a USB cable.

Here's how to update to Mac OS X 10.11.2

As mentioned before, the Mac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan update is now live in the Mac App Store for all supported Macs, and it is a recommended update for all El Capitan users, especially those running the OS X 10.11 release.

If you haven't updated yet, go ahead and open the Mac App Store application, click on the "Updates" tab, wait a few seconds for the list of updates to be refreshed, and you should see the new "OS X El Capitan Update 10.11.2" entry.

Click on the "Update" button in front of it, then on the "Download and Restart" button on the pop-up dialog that will appear, and wait for the update to be downloaded and installed on your Mac, which will automatically restart to complete the update. That's it!
