They will be available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac

Apple has just announced in a press release on their Press Info website that J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter book series is now available in enhanced edition on the iBooks Store, ready to be purchased and read by Mac, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users.

According to Apple's press release, "customers can download individual books featuring full original text, interactive animations and elaborate artwork bringing these beloved stories to life in a unique way."

Furthermore, the enhanced version of the Harry Potter series also contains annotations written by J.K. Rowling herself.

“I’m thrilled to see the Harry Potter books so beautifully realised on iBooks for the digital world; the artwork and animations in these enhanced editions bring the stories alive in a delightful new way,” said J.K. Rowling.

Tim Cook also chimes in stating that the new and improved Harry Potter books are available exclusively in Apple's iBooks Store and that they have been optimized for the iPad and the iPhone.

Apple's iBooks Store can now be used in 52 countries and is designed to provide Apple users with access to a wide selection of books from all categories, from cookbooks and history books to biographies and children’s books.

The Harry Potter enhanced editions are available in English and come with a $9.99 priced each and are already added to the iBooks Store in 32 countries. Furthermore, customers can also pre-order the French, German and Spanish versions starting today, and they will be available for download on November 9 in 18 extra countries.

The iBooks Store has just been launched in China on September 30 with a broad array of Chinese language books, and also allowing users to effortlessly sync their book between iOS, OS X and Windows devices using the iCloud service.
