14 DAY TRIAL // On July 22, Arne Exton, the developer of several GNU/Linux and Android-x86 distributions, announced that he updated his Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 distro to build 7, a release that brings Linux kernel 4.0.8, Mesa 10.5.9, and other goodies.
According to Mr. Exton, the new version of the Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 distribution is a total rebuild, which fixes Bluetooth, updates the Mesa 3D Graphics Library package to improve the graphic performance of the system, and updates the kernel packages to 4.0.8-exton-android-x86, based on the upstream Linux 4.0.8 kernel.
Additionally, the Mesa 10.5.9 package enables hardware acceleration for Nvidia graphics cards by including the latest Nouveau video driver, as well as for VMWare virtual environments through the vmwgfx driver. Also, the GAPPS (Google Apps) package has been added, which includes apps like Google Play Store, YouTube, Google Play Services, Google Maps, etc.

It is distributed as a hybrid-ISO image that you can write on either a USB flash drive or a DVD disc and use it to boot the distro from the BIOS of numerous laptops and desktop computers.
