14 DAY TRIAL // Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie married in August last year, in a surprise and very intimate ceremony held at their French castle. At the time they finally did tie the knot, the tabloids had already exhausted all stories on possible wedding dates.
So now’s time for the divorce narrative to take center-stage: this week’s issue of InTouch Weekly claims to have it on very good authority that a divorce announcement will come in 2015, but not before they’re done promoting their new, joint movie “By the Sea” (report via Hollywood Life).
Brad is “beyond miserable,” can’t stand life with Angelina anymore
Production on the film, which Angelina wrote and directed, but co-produced with her co-star Brad, wrapped a while back, but with a release date set for November, they’re expected to start the promo trail in early fall.
“By the Sea” isn’t just their first film since “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” it’s also believed to be their joint vehicle in the upcoming Oscars race. They can’t have anything mess with the promo campaign, even if that’s their impending divorce.
But first things first: the tab claims that Brad has had it with Angelina’s controlling ways and “he’s come to resent the power he’s allowed her to have over him.” He always knew that she liked to be in charge, but what was once sweet is now unbearable, so he informed her that he wants a divorce.
She agreed to give it to him, but only on the condition that they keep the secret until the film is out.
Angelina is still calling the shots
Brad wants to divorce Angelina, and if he had a say in it, he would file the papers tomorrow, but she has other plans in mind.
“[‘By the Sea’ is] Angie’s most personal film, and it means the world to her,” an insider reveals. “She’s begged Brad to hang in until after it hopefully is the hit she believes it’s going to be. He’s reluctantly agreed.”
In the meantime, they tried to see if they could still save their marriage, but all attempts have failed. The report also hints that Brad might have cheated on Angelina, which led to an explosive argument, which, in turn, sealed the deal on their decision to separate.
After promotion for the film is done and once the divorce announcement is made, they will also discuss financial arrangements and custody of their 6 children, the report adds.
