Apple’s getting ready to debut a new 4-inch iPhone later this month, but it’s the iPhone 7 that’s catching everyone’s attention, mostly thanks to the improvements that it’s very likely to feature.

And according to a new report, Apple is looking to introduce a significant upgrade on the phablet iPhone 7 when it launches, together with a new name.

First and foremost, the name. It’s believed that Apple could call the biggest model “iPhone 7 Pro” or “iPhone Pro,” in an attempt to follow the same naming scheme used for MacBook and iPad. And this would certainly make sense since the Pro is used by Apple for the top-of-the-range models, but it’s still uncertain whether the company still wants to keep the Plus moniker or replace it completely.

If the Plus still exists, then it means that Apple will have no less than four iPhone variants - the 4-inch model, the 4.7-inch, the Plus (5.5-inch), and the Pro. In case the company replaces the Plus with the Pro, then it’ll have just three models, with the Pro becoming the biggest in size and the most powerful in terms of features.

Dual-camera setup on the Pro

In order to make the Pro feel like a Pro, Apple is planning several exclusive features, including what could be dual cameras. This is a feature that Apple has been working on for some time, according to people close to the matter, so the iPhone 7 Pro could be the first to get it.

At this point, it’s not yet clear how the dual cameras will work, but it’s believed that they could be used for improved focus, especially for group shots or panoramas. Apple is aiming to offer DSLR-like photo quality, and dual cameras are reportedly the first step in this direction.

Clearly, nothing should be taken for granted for the moment, especially with the iPhone 7 launch expected to take place in September.
