Alcatel announced less than two weeks ago that its high-end OneTouch Idol 3 Android smartphone will arrive in Canada on June 30.

The smartphone was also up on pre-order in the United States from April 21 where customers could get it for only $200 outright, but just for a limited time.

However, customers in Canada will have to pay a lot more if they want the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3, which has just made its debut at some major carriers across the country.

As MobileSyrup points out, the OneTouch Idol 3 is now available for purchase at Bell Canada, TELUS and Videotron.

All three carriers offer the smartphone for no less than $350 CAD outright, but those who don't mind committing to a two-year agreement can get it for free at TELUS and Bell, or for $30 at Videotron.

Another high-end selfie-centric phablet

Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is a high-end device, but it can't be tagged as flagship smartphone. It ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and features a 64-bit chipset inside.

The phablet sports a large 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It's not protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating though.

On the back, the OneTouch Idol 3 packs a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary no less impressive 8-megapixel camera for great selfies and video calls.

Alcatel's high-end phablet is equipped with a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB RAM.

The smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It's also worth mentioning that the phone is powered by a non-removable 2,910 mAh battery and features LTE support.
