Here's something you definitely don't see every day

Just in case there was any doubt about it, here's a rather puzzling photo testifying to Mother Nature's sheer awesomeness. The photo, posted on Reddit just the other day, shows two mushrooms towering over a scrubbing brush, caps and all.

It was shared by a user who goes by the name of Bantrlicious and who claims that the mushrooms grew on the scrubbing brush so fast that they didn't even notice them until they were fully formed, DM reports.

“What is amazing is how quickly they grew - seemingly overnight, although I haven't scrutinized the brush recently so can't be sure,” Bantrlicious wrote in a message accompanying the photo on Reddit.

An unexpected discovery to make in the bathroom

We're used to having mushrooms decorate pizza. Having them grow around the house for no apparent reason, however, can be a bit perplexing, and understandably so.

Reddit user Bantrlicious admits that, when they at long last noticed the two mushrooms growing out of the scrubbing brush left abandoned in the bathroom, they were quite taken aback.

More so since this brush is not a dish-scrubbing but a body-scrubbing one, and so it makes no sense that it should have fungi growing and thriving on it.

“Alarmingly, this is a body-scrubbing rather than dish-scrubbing brush,” Bantrlicious went on to explain in the message posted on Reddit together with the photo.

The mushrooms seem to feel at home on the brush

It might be that mushrooms have no place in people's bathrooms, but these two seem quite at home on the scrubbing brush. They stand tall and proud, looking quite pleased with their living conditions.

Sure, folks are calling them brushrooms, but they don't seem to mind being made fun of. They might be an oddity, but at least they are a cool one.

Apparently, mushrooms often grow on wood. Add to this the fact that bathrooms are usually damp environments, which is exactly what mushrooms need to thrive, and the occurrence begins to make sense.
