The latest browser from Opera wants to replace news apps

So, you happen to have a news application installed on your iOS device, or maybe more? Obviously, you also have at least one browser that you use on a daily basis to get your everyday ration of information.

Well, it appears that Opera wants to make Apple fans use a single application for both: news and Internet browsing. The new Opera Coast browser promises to feed you with news and notifications from your browser.

But what's different about Opera Coast that no other news application offers? According to developers, “the Opera Coast browser automatically creates a personalized news feed based on your favorite websites and brings them to you right on your browser homescreen.”

And it gets even better, as you will be able to opt out of content anytime you wish if some of the websites don't meet your strict demands anymore.

You can even rate articles and switch between reading views, which will greatly help your news experience and make it more personal thanks to these customization options.

Get one notification for 100 articles, instead of one for each

Opera Coast will also send you notifications when the news feed has been refreshed with new content, but you will be able to customize that as well.

That's quite smart since you will now get just one notification for 100 articles that have been gathered in the next feed, instead of 100 alerts for each of the article.

If you still don't believe that Opera Coast can be of any help to you, then you should at least give developers some credit for the most original changelog. It starts like this:

“Did you know that the last time Facebook posted useful release notes was more than 80 weeks ago? Some companies are so big that they don’t have to write change logs. What we think about them is best described with one of the new emoticons featured in iOS 9.1.”

For the rest of the changelog, you can visit Opera Coast page on App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 7.0 or newer.
