14 DAY TRIAL // Opera Software, through Błażej Kaźmierczak, has had the great pleasure of announcing the availability of the first development milestone of the Opera 36 web browser for all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.
Now that the Opera 34 web browser has been launched as the latest stable and most advanced version of the project, the time has come for the Opera 35 to be moved to the Beta channel (no announcement has been made at the time of writing this article) and to add Opera 36 to the development channel.
"Today, unlike our previous initial O35 release, in this very first O36 cycle release, we are releasing… Opera, 36 version," Błażej Kaźmierczak informs us. "Many of you felt that the previous, final O34 blogpost was missing feature details, so we want to jump straight to these details for O36."
The new features of Opera 36
Once again, Opera Software has laid down the plans for the next major Opera release, just as it did when the Opera 35 web browser was announced for the first time. Therefore, we can report today that, for Opera 36, the Opera devs are working on improving the Speed Dial, simplifying the user interface, as well as on making the News feature more customizable.
Additionally, Opera Software promises a more polished UI for the Windows 10 operating system, great performance improvements to the synchronization engine, the addition of more extensions on the toolbar, and a few more stealth projects. Of course, Opera 36 will be based on the open-source Chromium 49.0 web browser, which is also in development.
Those of you who want to get an early taste of the Opera 36 web browser can download the binaries for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from Softpedia. However, please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version of the software, which means that it shouldn't be installed on production machines.
