Nintendo has not been offering too much information about its upcoming NX hardware, but other sources are continuing to report that launch will take place during next year and that some massive sales for the platform are expected.

A report from Digitimes, which is published in Taipei, Taiwan, states that some suppliers who are working on parts for the device are saying that they are planning to create enough components to power 10 to 12 million units during next year.

Apparently, the plan is to go into mass production at the end of the first quarter of next year, and even considering a rapid pace for sales, launch would have to take place before the end of summer to generate the big numbers that the companies are talking about.

It seems that internal reports from Nintendo are saying that the NX can reach 20 million units moved to players next year, which is a truly impressive number for a device that just arrives on the market.

The list of companies involved in its manufacturing process involve Foxconn Technology, Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech.

The Nintendo NX would have to deliver a pretty impressive set of features to be competitive on a market where the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony are continuing to deliver impressive sales and are accompanied by a variety of solid video game releases.

The devices are expected to move more than 13 million units during the coming 12 months, more if another price cut for each is implemented.

Nintendo NX will get more details in January

The company has explained that at the moment it is still in the early development process for its next big hardware launch and only plans to offer more information in January of 2016, although gamers should not expect a reveal that includes all the new features.

Rumors are talking about a new device that includes a tablet-style controller that can also be used on its own as a handheld.

The main console will offer power that's equivalent to that of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and Nintendo is also planning to deliver a wide range of games on launch to make sure that long-time fans have something that they can play as soon as they get a device.

It's unclear whether the NX will also incorporate the health-related elements that the company has previously talked about or whether those will be offered as an add-on at a later point.

There are also long-term plans to continue offering support for the Wii U because Nintendo does not want those who picked one up to feel abandoned.

Reportedly, Software Development Kits for the NX are already in the hands of some major Japanese studios, which will ensure solid third-party support for the new platform.

Rumors are also saying that the recently announced mobile partnership with DeNA will also become more important for Nintendo after its new platform is finally revealed and launched.
