Redmond getting ready to bring new flagships to the market

Both Microsoft flagship devices and Windows 10 Mobile are expected to see daylight in October, and as we get closer to that date, more information on Redmond's new phones reaches the web.

Earlier today, we got our hands on the very first official press photos with the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, and now, thanks to a leak coming from German website DrWindows (via WMPU), we can also see the latter in the wild connected to a Continuum adapter.

While it's hard to tell exactly if this is indeed the Lumia 950 XL, it appears to have a blue back cover, just like the one in the official renders, so chances are that the photo isn't fake.

What's more interesting is that, this time, the phone is plugged into a Continuum adapter, which allows users with a Windows 10 PC to simply start working on their phones, using apps installed on the device, with a mouse and keyboard by simply connecting it to the computer.

Basically, the adapter and Windows 10 help mirror the phone UI on the PC monitor, so a Windows 10 Mobile device can easily become a productivity machine in just a second.

Launch expected in October at New York event

Despite the fact that more and more details on Microsoft's new flagships reach the web, the company remains tight-lipped for the time being on its overhauled mobile portfolio.

It's believed, however, that Microsoft is actually planning to unveil its new high-end models at an event in New York in October, when Windows 10 Mobile, the company's new mobile operating system, should also be ready.

The very same event might witness the unveiling of some other products, including the Surface Pro 4 and the second-generation Band smart wristband, but once again, nothing is confirmed so far.

In the meantime, everyone can give a try to Windows 10 Mobile by simply registering for the Windows Insider program. There's no info on when the Continuum adapter will become available, but expect it to debut together with the new phones.
