Microsoft confirms that it's just starting to roll out the New Xbox One Experience beta for Xbox Live Preview members worldwide. The invitations are going out in waves, and in order to show off the different features, from the user interface to the new mechanics, a special video is also available.

The Xbox One started its launch back in November of 2013, and throughout the years, Microsoft has released a lot of different firmware updates that added new features, revised existing ones, and made all sorts of performance enhancements.

Now, the biggest update yet is scheduled to debut in November of this year, bringing a Windows 10-based operating system, not to mention DirectX 12 and other such improvements.

The New Xbox One Experience beta is rolling out to more users

The update, which is called the New Xbox One Experience, is rolling out first to Xbox Live Preview  members, and Microsoft confirms on its Xbox Wire website that the first waves of invitations to test the firmware are heading out.

Besides confirming the availability of the beta update, the company also highlights the many major features, starting with the redesigned Home section. As you can see in the screenshot above, as well as in the lengthy walkthrough video below, a lot of tweaks have been made to the old Home screen. There's a bigger emphasis on the main activity, as well as on the sharing options for achievements, clips, and easy access to the Game Hub.

Players can also quickly jump to their pins as well as the My Games and Apps section by using the triggers on the controller.

A new Guide is available when you double-tap the Xbox button, giving users easy access to the Friends and Parties, Notifications, Messages, Settings, or Snap.
