14 DAY TRIAL // Just a few moments ago, February 10, 2016, Łukasz Zemczak of Canonical sent in his daily report email to inform us about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in preparation for the upcoming OTA releases.
Today there's finally some good news for Ubuntu Phone users, as according to Mr. Zemczak, the Mir team reports that they have successfully reproduced the infamous bug that rendered users' devices unusable during incoming calls, an issue that occurred after the upgrade to the OTA-9 software update.
"The Mir developers have informed me, they might have a possible fix/workaround for at least most of the issue on hand and will be preparing a silo for it soon. It still needs testing and validation once it's prepared, but at least, they're getting close. We'll inform you once that's ready and landed," said Łukasz Zemczak, Ubuntu Foundations.
The Ubuntu convergence-related work continues
In the meantime, the Ubuntu Touch developers continue their work on the next major OTA software updates, as well as on the enablement of the Ubuntu Tablet, the BQ Aquaris M10 (frieza). Therefore, we can report today that the Unity 8 user interface got some greeter fixes for tablet form-factors.
Other than that, new versions of the Ubuntu System Settings and libhybris components were released during the day of February 9, 2016. Also, it appears that the ubuntu-pd channels are currently getting all the attention they need and will soon be ready for production.
