During Electronic Arts' Gamescom 2015 press event, developer Ghost Games has just released a huge amount of new information about its upcoming Need for Speed racing title. The game features not just five play styles represented by different speed icons like rally driver Ken Block but also many other great mechanics.

Need for Speed games in recent years have tried to recreate the success of older titles in the series, but unfortunately, they've all stopped short of making an impression on the huge racing game community.

Now, with the simply titled Need for Speed, EA and Ghost Games are trying to recreate the popular tuning system seen in NFS Underground and its different sequels.

After sharing plenty of information and gameplay at E3 2015, the two companies have brought to Gamescom 2015 a lot of fresh details concerning its campaign, its mechanics, and its plot.

The five play styles are represented by speed icons

First up, the five play styles confirmed at E3 2015 (Outlaw, Style, Build, Speed, and Crew) are represented by five different speed icons. These range from rally driver Ken Block to Shinichi Morohoshi, Akira Nakai, Magnus Walker, and the Risky Devil crew.

You can learn much more about each of the different speed icons in the details below. You can also see them in action in the video.

Besides these new specifics, EA and Ghost Games have also confirmed that Need for Speed blends live-action footage with Frostbite 3's visuals so that the player's customized car can appear in the cut scenes and keep fans immersed in the racing experience.

You can bet that way more details about Need for Speed are going to be shared by Electronic Arts and Ghost Games in the following months, as we get closer to the launch of the racing title on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 3, in North America, and November 5, in Europe.
