One of the highly anticipated high-end smartphones of this year, Motorola's 3rd-generation Moto X has just been unveiled, but in the United States it will be available as Moto X Pure Edition.

The Moto X Pure Edition is the US variant of the Moto X Style that's been announced by Motorola earlier today.

The good news is the smartphone is now available for purchase for just $400 outright and is fully compatible with all carriers in the United States, including Verizon Wireless.

Here are all the bands compatible with the Moto X Pure Edition, as confirmed by Motorola on its official website:

- UMTS GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); - UMTS/HSPA+ (800, 850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz); - 4G LTE (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 28, 40, 41); - CDMA (800, 850, 1900 MHz).

As for the specs, most of those interested in acquiring this handset probably know by now that the Moto X Pure Edition comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

The smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It's available in White and Black, but supports Moto Maker customization

Motorola Moto X Pure Edition packs either 16, 32 or 64GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the handset features an impressive 21-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording. In the front, there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies, which features wide-angle lens, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.

Although the smartphone features water-repellent coating, it's not really water resistant like the Moto G (3rd gen) announced earlier today.

When it comes to connectivity, the Moto X Pure Edition features 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS and NFC (Near Field Communication). The smartphone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and supports quick charging (includes Motorola TurboPower 25 charger in sales package).

Last but not least, the Moto X Pure Edition sports a large 5.7-inch TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
