Motorola has already launched a few Android smartphones, but the US-based company still has a few devices to unveil by the end of the year.

They are mainly for the US market, but their specs aren't much different from those of the Moto X Play and Moto X Style that are now available globally.

We are talking about Motorola DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2, which will be available in the United States exclusively through Verizon Wireless.

We've already reported on the DROID Maxx 2, which apparently nears launch, so let's see what happens with the other Motorola smartphone, the DROID Turbo 2.

Well, it looks like the folks over at G for Games have just spotted the smartphone at GFC (Global Certification Forum) where it's been certified. This means that we should expect the DROID Turbo 2 to be officially unveiled very soon.

Not much is listed at GFC, so we can't confirm any of the specs that have been rumored in the last couple of months. Still, for those out of the loop, here is a quick rundown of what the DROID Turbo 2 has to offer in terms of specs.

Lollipop or Marshmallow?

First of all, the smartphone is expected to boast a 5.43-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

In addition, the DROID Turbo 2 will be equipped with a powerful 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Motorola will launch two variants of the smartphone based on the amount of storage: 32GB and 64GB. There's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion for the moment.

On the back, the handset should pack a 21-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there should be a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Last but not least, Motorola DROID Turbo 2 will be powered by a large 3,760 mAh battery, and should be announced on or around October 15.
