Alleged leaks of iPhone 7 backlight reach the web

Another day, another iPhone 7 rumor. This time, word has it that Apple might be making some under-the-hood changes to the upcoming model in order to make room for other parts that could debut on the iPhone 7.

Photos allegedly showing the iPhone 7 backlight and posted by AppleClub.tw (via NWE) reveal several differences when compared to the iPhone 6s that could indeed bring a series of changes to the 2016 model.

Details are not available right now, but a photo published by the aforementioned source and showing the current and the upcoming iPhone side by side reveals that Apple is moving some of the connector cables from the left side to the opposite side.

While this might not seem such a big deal at first glance, these changes might actually be a sign that the Cupertino-based firm is planning more under-the-hood modifications needed by new or upgraded parts that have a different size on the upcoming model.

Rumor has it that the next iPhone would be thinner, so changing the position of specific parts might be required. At the same time, a bigger battery could also debut on the iPhone 7, and given the fact that this is usually the part eating up the most space, rethinking the layout of components is a must.

Possible debut in the summer

The next-generation iPhone might arrive sooner than expected, as some people with knowledge of the matter believe that Apple is planning to bring the device out in the summer instead of the typical September release date.

While this hasn’t yet been confirmed, the rumor makes sense at some level because Apple would thus benefit from bigger sales in the fall, but on the other hand, a public unveil during the summer might generate less interest from people across the globe.

Of course, there are a lot of uncertain things right now, so take everything with a pinch of salt until we hear something official.
