It's because of the poor quality, some users complain

Microsoft's new Lumia 950 and 950 XL are now for sale across the world, but some of the luckiest buyers have already received their phones, no matter the model they ordered.

Unfortunately, this also coincides with the moment when the very first bugs are being found, as some of the first Lumia 950 and 950 XL owners have already discovered a number of glitches impacting their phones.

The XL's back plastic cover, which is often described as “very cheap” by many of those who purchased the device, seems to be warping after being removed several times from the phone and now appears to be separated from the phone. Posts on reddit confirm this problem, with several users complaining that the case no longer fits properly after it was removed repeatedly.

Poor-quality back cover

User kindofstephen details the problem:

“Kinda disappointed. I've been very careful in removing the back cover and removed it 3 times. Once to add in the SIM card, once to add in a MicroSD cover, and once just to take it off (when I first bought it). It's already formed a slight dent and the material there feels gummy.”

Others have already confirmed the issue exists on their phones too:

“I had that the first time I removed the cover. It doesn't bother me, but it's definitely poor quality,” user saywutttut writes. “Made a post about mine earlier. Doesn't warp but definitely doesn't fit properly. It squeaks like the door hinge from a 73 Mustang with any little pressure,” explosive0 continues.

For the moment, this doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, and customers who are experiencing this problem could always return the device and get a new one instead. We've contacted Microsoft to see if the company is aware of the defect and whether it can offer any suggestions for those whose phones are impacted by the problem, so we'll update the article when we receive an answer
