Great news for iOS users who have been waiting for Skype for Business to be released on their devices, as Microsoft has just announced the application is finally available for download via App Store.

The Redmond-based company launched Skype for Business for iOS preview back in August and worked to make it better for a few months.

According to Microsoft, the new application also resolves the sign-in issues that some users of the preview application have been affected by when using Lync 2013 on iOS 9.

Speaking of which, users of the preview version will notice that the new Skype for Business comes with an updated dashboard, which brings the contact search bar, all the upcoming meetings and most-recent conversations to a single place.

With the contact search bar, users will be able to search their Global Address List by first name, last name, email alias or phone number.

Additional authentication and security options have been added too

Skype for Business offers quick access to recent conversations, regardless of what device you used when you had those conversations.

The first stable version of Skype for Business is said to provide an “enhanced in-meeting experience.” The application offers full-screen video feature, larger buttons that allow users to mute a call, as well as the ability to add participants and manage calls much easier while on the go.

Simultaneous viewing of the content being shared and speaker's video are other nifty features included in Skype for Business iOS application.

Last but not least, Microsoft confirmed that Skype for Business iOS is now available as a Universal app in the iTunes Store. So, iPhone users with Lync 2013 will automatically get updated to the Skype for Business app, while iPad users with Lync 2013 will have to download the new Universal app from the iTunes Store.

New users can now download Skype for Business for iOS for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 8.1 or later.
