As long as there's a market for dumb phones, handset makers will continue to launch feature phones, and Microsoft is no exception.

The new Nokia 230 and 230 Dual SIM have just been announced by Microsoft and will be available for purchase beginning December for just $55 before local taxes and subsidies.

Initially, the handsets will be launched in India, Asia, and the Middle East, while other markets will follow in 2016. Depending on the region, customers will be able to get one or the other.

According to Microsoft, Nokia 230 and 230 Dual SIM “are perfect for taking and sharing selfies day and night.” Both of them are Internet-enabled, so users will be able to take advantage of web browsing and social network services.

Another strong point of the feature phones is the fact that they come with LED flash for the main camera on the back but also for the camera on the front, which is why Microsoft is advertising them as capable of taking photos day and night.

Microsoft also recommends these dumb phones to those who like mobile gaming. Those who purchase any of the two handsets will be allowed to download one free Gameloft game every month for a year, including titles like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Midnight Pool 3.

The devices come with Opera Mini Browser and Opera Store that provides access to plenty of games and applications to choose from.

Design-wise, both feature phones sport aluminum back cover, which doesn't make them feel that cheap. In fact, they look pretty stylish for the price.

Aside from the fact that one of them offers dual-SIM support, Nokia 230 and 230 Dual SIM have similar specs under the hood.

They sport 2.8-inch displays that support QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolution and run Nokia Series 30+ UI. As mentioned earlier, they come with LED flash for the 2-megapixel rear-facing camera, but also for the 2-megapixel camera on the front.

Nokia 230 and 230 Dual SIM pack microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). The 1,200 mAh battery inside should last for up to 23 hours of talk time or up to 27 days of standby time (22 days for the Dual SIM variant).
