“No significant known issues in this build”

Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 build 10158 earlier today, but only fast ring users of the Windows Insider program have access to this new release, so Microsoft still needs to work a little bit more on general improvements before making it available for everyone.

With the release of Windows 10 on July 29, the full focus is now on performance enhancements and general fixes, as developing new features is no longer possible in such a short time frame.

But what’s more important is that Windows 10 is coming together quite nicely, and Microsoft has sort of confirmed this in a recent post announcing build 10158, pointing out that “no significant known issues exist in this build.”

Seeing a new Windows 10 build without major issues is actually the first sign that Microsoft’s development process is going according to plan, and as we get closer to the public release on July 29, the operating system should work even better and come with fewer bugs.

Only available for fast ring users

And imagine that build 10158 is only available for fast ring users, so when it’s finally released to slow ring users too, it should be much more stable and reliable, providing an experience that will be close to the one you’ll get when upgrading to RTM.

Windows 10 reached its maturity, and as we move closer to July 29, 99 percent of the bugs and issues that you’ve found in preview builds should no longer be there, so expect the operating system to improve even further in the coming weeks.

The Windows Insider program will continue beyond July 29, and Microsoft says that all future updates will be developed with help from Windows Insiders, so if you opt to continue with pre-release versions of Windows 10, you will keep on getting new builds even after the final bits are delivered.
