Redmond says this option will be added in a future update

Since it’s built from the ground up, Microsoft Edge needs a lot of work before becoming a truly powerful rival to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, so Redmond is adding new features regularly as it completes their development.

One of the new options that will soon be added to Microsoft Edge is “paste & go” support, which basically allows users to simply right-click the address bar, paste the link in their clipboard and load it directly without having to press Enter on the keyboard or the “Go” button in the browser.

This option has already been requested and voted by more than 1,200 users in the Windows Feedback app, and Microsoft says that “we got this feedback and we’re using it to improve your experience.”

In plain English, yes, paste and go will be added in Microsoft Edge at some point in the future, and with a little luck, this feature could be there when Windows 10 RTM debuts later this month.

More features coming later this year

Paste and go is already available in rival browsers, so it’s essential for Microsoft to add such an option to improve users’ experience with the new app.

But the company won’t stop here. Many more features are scheduled to debut in Microsoft Edge in the coming months, and one of them is extension support, which, according to Redmond, should become available “later this year.”

While no timing has been provided for this particular feature, it’s believed that it would arrive in late 2015, when Microsoft is projected to ship the first Windows 10 update to users running it on their PCs. This way, more improvements for the Edge browser could be provided in addition to extension support, as Microsoft has already confirmed that some features won’t be ready for RTM and they will arrive at a later time if development goes as planned.
