Customers will be able to get 50GB of cloud storage

Microsoft fans in India rejoice as the Redmond-based company has just announced it has partnered with native vendor Intex to offer free OneDrive cloud storage to customers.

According to AndroidCentral, Microsoft's OneDrive application for Android will be preloaded on all Intex smartphones that pack 16GB of internal memory and 2GB of RAM.

Among the eligible phones for the OneDrive offer, it's worth mentioning the Aqua Speed HD, Aqua Power Plus, Cloud Power Plus, and Aqua Star II (16GB).

Moreover, Intex Technologies confirmed the current offering would be extended to any future smartphone launched by the company, which meets the requirements mentioned earlier.

Intex is the first Indian OEM to offer free OneDrive cloud storage

Beginning this month, all customers who purchase one of the eligible Intex smartphones listed above will receive no less than 50GB of OneDrive storage for 2 years.

After the 2-year period ends, you will have to pay a small fee in order to keep using the 50GB OneDrive storage now offered for free.

“With online being the preferred medium, online storage space has also gathered lot of traction. So, keeping the consumers trend in mind, we have forged first of its kind association with Microsoft and introduced an in-built app OneDrive that will give users free cloud storage space of 50 GB.

“We are confident that this association will further strengthen our commitment to satisfying consumer needs better,” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head, Mobiles, Intex Technologies.

In the same piece of news, Intex and Microsoft announce that their new partnership will also extend to Skype services, which will be bundled into the Indian company's smartphones in the not so distant future.

For the time being, Skype is only available on select Intex devices like Aqua Turbo 4G, Aqua Star II (16GB), Aqua Life III, as well as Aqua Slice II.
