“We're evaluating and could launch it this week,” Aul says

Microsoft has just released a new build of Windows 10 for PCs to insiders, and now everyone's expecting the company to do the same with Windows 10 Mobile.

And according to Gabe Aul, the head of the Windows Insider program, a new build of Windows 10 Mobile is very close to getting the go-ahead, as a good candidate is already being evaluated for a public release.

As we told you yesterday, a new Windows 10 Mobile build is projected to launch this week, and Aul has confirmed that this is the case, but hasn't provided any specifics on when exactly insiders could get it. But given the fact that builds aren't usually released on Mondays, Fridays, and weekends, it's today, tomorrow, or on Thursday, so the new version should be here in a maximum of three days.

“Looking very good. We have a build that we've been stabilizing, doing final eval on it today/tomorrow,” Aul has explained, while also revealing that the version that's currently being evaluated is 105494.

Public release in December

As you can see, Microsoft doesn't seem to be in a rush when it comes to new Windows 10 Mobile builds, pretty much because the company still has one month and a half before the RTM version is supposed to go live.

The company confirmed on the official Microsoft Lumia Facebook account that the Windows 10 Mobile rollout would begin in December, so the very first phones that are eligible for the upgrade should see the new bits in approximately 45 days.

Builds that are released to testers are very likely to be focused on bug fixing and performance improvements, so expect very little in terms of new features. We're hearing that Windows 10 Mobile is already feature-complete, so squashing bugs is all the company needs to do right now.
