Microsoft is struggling to finalize work on Windows 10 this week, and the company is now planning to release a new build for Windows insiders that would let them try out the latest improvements it made to the operating system before the big launch on July 29.

Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc has confirmed in a post on the official Windows blog that a new Windows 10 build is coming for insiders this week, pointing out that it would include the Groove app that’s replacing Xbox Music in the new operating system.

“We’ve kept a keen eye on our existing entertainment fans to make sure the experiences which they enjoy and subscribe to today, will continue without any interruptions. Here’s a quick overview of the new features you’ll find with both apps in the build coming to Windows Insiders this week,” he writes.

RTM candidate?

Now the biggest question among Windows insiders is whether the upcoming build could be an RTM candidate or not. Some people say it will, but Microsoft is yet to confirm such information, adding that the new version will become available for fast ring users first, thus suggesting that a release to slow ring users is possible if no major bug is found.

Windows 10 build 10176 is believed to be the first Windows 10 RTM candidate, but again, it’s not yet clear whether this particular build could be released to insiders this week or not.

Sources say that RTM is planned for July 9, so we’re only two days away from the sign-off date of the new operating system. If the new insider build arrives on Thursday, this could indeed be an RTM release candidate that would receive the final tweaks on July 29, when Microsoft is formally rolling out the new Windows 10.

Windows insiders will be the first to get Windows 10 on July 29, with everyone else to get it in waves shortly after that, depending on the number of compatibility issues discovered on their computers.
