Microsoft is announcing that it has managed to get 22.2 billion dollars (205 billion Euro) in revenue during the quarter that ended on June 30 and that it has suffered a loss during the same period, although the problems do not seem to be linked to the computing and gaming hardware division.

The official announcement, quoted by NeoGAF, shows that revenue for the gaming-focused section of the company has grown by 44 percent during the period, with both the Surface device and the Xbox One delivering solid sales.

Microsoft is careful not to separate sales of the Xbox One from sales of the Xbox 360 and says that it has managed to deliver 1.4 million devices to gamers during the fourth quarter, which is much better than the 1.1 million of the previous year.

Revenue generated by these devices also increased by 10 percent, which is a solid result given that the price of the hardware actually dropped during the period.

Microsoft also says that Xbox Live transactions have seen a boost of 58%, with increased revenue per user.

First-party video games also registered a boost of 62%, of which a solid slice is linked to the recent acquisition of Minecraft and Mojang.

The Xbox One has a solid list of exclusives coming in the fall

Despite the solid results of the home console, the company has not managed to catch up to the PlayStation 4 or to beat it in the NPD Group-compiled charts for the United States for most months of 2015.

Microsoft has already revealed a wide array of exclusive titles that will be offered before the end of the year, including the massive Halo 5: Guardians, as well as Rise of the Tomb Raider and Forza Motorsport 6.

The company also seems determined to deliver interesting bundles, with the most recent of them allowing American football fans to get a 1 TB hard drive console alongside a code for Madden NFL 16 and one year of EA Access service.

Microsoft has ruled out the implementation of more price cuts for the Xbox One for the foreseeable future and wants to add more value to the home console via its apps and video game launches.
