Leaker hints Windows users might soon get new exciting news

Everyone seems to believe these days that Windows 10 Mobile is dead, but that really doesn’t seem to be the case if you look at Microsoft’s efforts to improve the platform.

With new builds released to insiders on a regular basis and the full upgrade for Windows Phone devices coming in the near future, Microsoft’s mobile operating system is far from being dead. And now there’s more proof of this.

Famous mobile leaker Evan Blass has dropped a new hint regarding Microsoft's Windows, saying on Twitter that this “is going to blow your minds.” While no details have been provided, and the chances are that only little will be revealed in the coming weeks, hardcore Windows Phone fans would love Blass to actually tease the Surface Phone.

Before anything, note that there's still no confirmed evidence that this might be related to Windows 10 Mobile. It's just "something" Windows and it's still too early to tell what it is.

The Surface Phone

With the upcoming Lumia 650 believed to be the last Lumia released by Microsoft (either in 2016 or in the coming years), the Surface Phone could arrive later this year as the premium Windows 10 Mobile device that everyone is waiting for.

Developed by the same team who worked on the Surface tablet and under the close guidance of Panos Panay, the Surface Phone could be the one device that might reboot Microsoft’s mobile efforts, with several major feature additions, including support for Win32 apps in Continuum.

If this project is real, it’s expected to see daylight later this year, most likely in the fall, when new Surface models are supposed to be launched too.

Of course, it’s too early to discuss such plans, and Evan Blass might actually point to a completely different project, so for the moment, we’ll have to wait and see how Microsoft is planning to relaunch its mobile business. Hopefully, this will happen sooner rather than later.

Update: title updated and added more information (plus emphasis) to clearly state that this is just a teaser for the moment and nobody can tell for sure what Evan Blass is referring to in his tweet.
