Microsoft has just announced a new version of Skype for iOS is now available for download on App Store. Although there aren't too many new features included in the update, those that have been added are pretty important for users who often share content via Skype.

First of all, the new update brings Skype for iOS to version 6.8. The latest version contains more sharing options for users, which should make it easier for iOS fans to take advantage of this feature.

According to Microsoft, Skype users will now be able to tap on a share button to send links from apps and websites or photos from the camera roll directly to a Skype contact.

Sharing photos via Skype has just become much easier

The new features are perfect for sharing photos from parties or present ideas with family members or friends without the hassle of sending the content in an email.

Simply select some content to share, swipe to the “More” button, and then switch sharing on for Skype in “Activities.”

Even though these are all the new features included in this update, Microsoft promises to bring even more improvements to Skype for iPhone and iPad.

“You may have noticed that we’re updating Skype for iPhone and iPad more often than ever. Our goal with each new release is to bring you something new to enjoy that helps you stay closer to friends and family,” states The Skype Team in a blog post.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Skype for iOS for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 7.0 or newer.
