The best email client for iOS has just gotten better

Outlook for iOS is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, email clients on iOS, and thanks to a new update released today, the application can now benefit from the latest features that are available on Apple’s new iPhone models.

First and foremost, the new version brings support for 3D Touch, which allows users to access specific features thanks to the pressure-sensitive multi-touch display. Basically, if you press the display harder, you get a new set of features that can be directly accessed from the home screen and without the need to launch the app.

In Outlook, you can create a new email or a new event and view the calendar with the 3D Touch support, which makes it faster to send new messages and check your appointments. Keep in mind that this feature only works on devices that support 3D Touch, and for the moment, these are the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.

Print conversations directly from Outlook

At the same time, the new Outlook version comes with features to allow users to quickly print emails without even leaving the conversation.

All you need to do to print a conversation when reading it is to click the ellipsis button in the upper right corner and select the Print option. You are then provided with several printing options, such as printer and number of copies. You can also see a print preview, just as you normally do on a PC.

Outlook is slowly but surely becoming a really powerful email client on iOS, but the Windows 10 Mobile version, which you’d expect to be the most advanced, given the fact that it’s a Microsoft platform, still lags behind and is far from offering the same performance and reliability.

The new Outlook for iOS version can be found in the store. It supports iOS 8 and newer, but for 3D Touch, you need to be running iOS 9 and have an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus.
