Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain owners across all consoles will soon be able to download the necessary files for the Metal Gear Online 3 multiplayer experience. Those in Japan can already transfer the files on the PS4 platform and reports confirm that they weigh in at 950MB. A special update for the game is coming tomorrow, October 6, when the MGO servers actually go online.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launched on September 1 across the PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 platforms all around the world. After being shrouded in various controversies, the actual game delighted plenty of fans with its complex story, as well as its pretty compelling gameplay.

At launch, players were only able to engage in the FOB (Forward Operating Base) competitive multiplayer experience, as Konami was forced to delay the release of the long awaited Metal Gear Online 3 mode until a later time.

MGO 3 has begun to roll out ahead of the actual debut tomorrow

The mode is set to make its public debut tomorrow, October 6, across all consoles, i.e. PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. MGOLeague confirms that the Metal Gear Online Game Data 1.0 free add-on for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now available for download on the PS4 in Japan.

The DLC appears to include the files required by the actual online mode and weighs in at around 950MB. It's expected that all console versions of Metal Gear Solid V will receive this DLC in the following days.

Konami also confirms, via NeoGAF, that tomorrow a special update for MGS V: The Phantom Pain will be launched, bringing a few other improvements to the game and, obviously, adding support for Metal Gear Online to the game.

Tomorrow the actual servers will also go online, so players will be able to compete with others in the various experiences offered by the mode. PC users, unfortunately, have to wait until January to receive their version of Metal Gear Online 3 for their copies of The Phantom Pain.
