Emil Velikov from the Mesa development team has had the pleasure of announcing the release and immediate availability for download of the sixth maintenance version of the Mesa 3D Graphical Library 10.6.

According to the changelog, which we have attached at the end of the article, Mesa 10.6.6 is here to fix several regressions in the Intel i965 video drivers, as well as to patch multiple crashes and assertions in the Radeon R600 graphics driver.

A workaround for a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) hang with the Unigine Heaven Benchmark software in the RadeonSI drivers has been added, along with Piglit tests for the Nouveau video driver.

Additionally, there are many other small fixes and improvements that will ensure Mesa 10.6 remains a stable and reliable piece of software. Users are urged to update to this version as soon as possible (see the download link at the end of the article).

"This release includes patches for mesa core, i965 (regression fixes), r600 (assertions and crash fixes in the sb backend), radeonsi (workaround for GPU hang in Unigine Heaven) and nouveau (piglit tests)," says Emil Velikov.

Mesa 11.0.0 Release Candidate 3 is ready for testing

The third Release Candidate (RC) build of the next major release of the Mesa 3D Graphics Library has been released as well, and has been seeded to testers worldwide in order to fix remaining bugs before the final version gets out.

There are approximately 35 bugfixes and improvements in the Mesa 11.0.0 RC3 release, which you can view in detail on the official release notes. Of course, you can download Mesa 3D Graphics Library 10.6.6 and 11.0.0 Release Candidate 3 right now from Softpedia.

We remind everyone that the 10.6.6 release of Mesa 3D Graphics Library is the latest and most advanced stable build available, and that the Mesa 11.0.0 RC3 build is a pre-release version, which means that it is not ready for production use.
