The team is investing resources in their creation

Mass Effect: Andromeda has been officially announced by developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts, but very limited details about the video game have been offered by the two companies, although the game creation process is at the moment in full swing.

The official Twitter account of Chris Wynn, the director working on the project, explains that creating new aliens for the title is taking a lot of work, which might be a reference to the concepts on which new races are based or to the resources needed to actually integrate them into the game.

Andromeda is designed to take place in an entirely new galaxy, and that means BioWare cannot rely on the classics that previous Mass Effect titles featured and which fans love.

It will be hard for the company to create designs that will be more engaging, at least initially, than the Krogan or the Asari.

The development team has suggested that it is aiming to create more exotic presences for the new title and to make it harder for players to rely on information they already have when it comes to interactions with the new aliens.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will use the Frostbite 3 engine and will take advantage of the power of the new consoles to make the races more impressive from a visual point of view.

BioWare is aiming to get back to the core of the action-adventure genre

The new title is not connected to the first three titles in the Mass Effect series in any way, although some familiar organizations and characters will be featured.

BioWare has not said why players are in the middle of the Andromeda galaxy or what the central theme of the narrative will be.

No name has been given to the new main character, but the Mako has been confirmed as returning to the series, with improved mechanics and a more central role to play when it comes to planetary exploration.

BioWare wants to offer a game that combines all the best elements of the previous three entries in the series, with great new characters, complex situations to solve, and some intense action and combat sequences.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be out on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 at some point in 2016.
