Mass Effect Andromeda is set to receive some fresh details this winter, according to developer BioWare, and the studio already teases that the updated builds of the RPG are looking better than the teaser footage showcased back in June at E3 2015.

The Mass Effect saga has delivered some of the most popular sci-fi role-playing shooter experiences of recent years and developer BioWare has tried hard to ensure that the next iteration not only lives up to the expectations of fans but also adds more new things. Chief among these is a brand new protagonist that picks up the mantle left open by Commander Shepard from the initial trilogy.

The first bit of actual footage from the new game, titled Mass Effect Andromeda, got showcased by publisher Electronic Arts at E3 2015 in June, and since then, not much else has been heard about the shooter.

Latest Andromeda build looks better than the E3 2015 footage

This doesn't mean that BioWare hasn't made more progress, as Mass Effect Senior Development Director Chris Wynn explains on Twitter that the latest build of Andromeda looks better than what was shown during the E3 2015 teaser video.

He explains that the initial footage was rendered inside the engine and the team can already produce even better results, so you can expect at least some fantastic visuals when it comes to the in-engine cut scenes from Andromeda.

Fans eager to know more won't have to wait much longer, as BioWare Montreal Studio Director Yanick Roy confirms on Twitter that more details are going to be revealed this winter. Roy doesn't say when exactly they'll appear, although it's possible that EA will bring the title to the Video Game Awards in December.

It's also possible, however, that EA and BioWare will wait until the beginning of 2016 to make any official announcements.

Mass Effect Andromeda is expected to make a debut in late 2016 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms, but nothing is official just yet.
