After informing us about the release of the Manjaro Linux i3 15.09, Manjaro Linux LXDE 15.09, and Manjaro Linux LXQt 15.09 distributions, the Manjaro Community is happy to announce today, October 3, the immediate availability for download of Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09.

According to the announcement, Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09 is based on the upstream Manjaro Linux 15.09 (Bellatrix) computer operating system, which means that it inherits almost all of its under-the-hood technologies, including the long-term supported Linux 4.1 kernel packages. The fact of the matter is that the Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09 release is based on the Manjaro Linux 15.09 stable update announced the other day, October 2.

Prominent features of Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09 (Bellatrix) include the GNOME 3.16.7 desktop environment, systemd 226 init system, X.Org Server 1.1.72 display server patched with the latest security fixes, Mesa 3D Graphics Library 11.0.2, Mozilla Firefox 41.0.2 web browser, and, of course, the recently released Linux kernel 4.1.9 LTS.

"This release keeps to the style of the 15.09 release being that it is highly vanilla, but of course is up-to-date at the time of build and includes the latest Manjaro back-end infrastructure. Note this means a very vanilla Gnome configuration, it doesn’t mean 'minimal,' the full set of Gnome software and other apps are provided out-of-the-box," reads today's announcement.

Syncronized with the upstream Arch Linux repositories

As expected, the Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09 distribution has been syncronized with the upstream Arch Linux software repositories, which means that it includes all the latest updates and security patches that have been released as of October 2, 2015. Unfortunately, the GNOME 3.18 package are not available for this release of Manjaro Linux GNOME Community Edition.

Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09 comes as a free upgrade for all Manjaro Linux GNOME 0.8.13.1 users, but if you want to do a fresh install or deploy the operating system on different computers, you can always download Manjaro Linux GNOME 15.09 Community Edition right now from Softpedia, where it is distributed as 64-bit and 32-bit Live ISO images.
