A fully working PC has been integrated into a regular mouse

The modern PCs have become ridiculously small and more powerful with each passing year. Up until now no one thought that it could be possible to fit everything into a mouse, but that's now becoming a reality and it's powerful enough that it can run even an OS like Ubuntu.

All kinds of mini-PCs have been surfacing in the past few years. Raspberry Pi is one of them and we've talked about the latest Intel Computer Stick. There are a ton of other devices out there and they all share the same kind of design or idea. They are either very small and they seat neatly on the table next to you, or they can be plugged in right into an HDMI monitor socket.

Until now, no one really thought about integrating all the components of a PC into a mouse and it actually makes perfect sense. Our colleague, Sebastian Pop, already covered this new device and you should check his report for more hardware details. The interesting thing is that the Mouse-Box (this is the name) can run a Linux system, and in fact, the device itself is advertised running Ubuntu.

A mouse PC opens completely new opportunities

This is the kind of idea that makes people think why it hasn't been done until now. It's true that the form factor just recently became small enough to accommodate this, but it's still mind-numbingly simple. The idea that is, because the PC itself is actually quite difficult to build.

"It still isn't ideal as it is necessary to transport a lot of its parts – a monitor, a keyboard, a CPU and a mouse. The approach to computer design and appearance has been the same until today. We are introducing Mouse-Box, a computer different than ever before. An incredible combination of the two most important elements in a computer set – a computer and a mouse," reads the official website.

The team that builds the Mouse-Box is also looking for help in order to mass produce it. They haven't announced any kind of price, but they did mention that it's going to be cheap. Check the video below to see it run Ubuntu.
