Chinese electronics firm Xiaomi made it in the top 5 smartphone makers, which is quite an achievement for a company that sells the majority of its products in just one country.

Even though Xiaomi wants to expand its portfolio to additional countries, the company is far from getting the same popularity in other regions than China.

Among the most popular smartphones launched by Xiaomi, we should mention the Mi4, which is also the company's flagship. The device comes with more than decent specs at an affordable price, in comparison with other high-end smartphones.

Since Xiaomi Mi4 was launched back in July 2014, we expect the Chinese company to release its next flagship smartphone in the coming months.

The top-notch smartphone will be called Xiaomi Mi5 and the first details on its specs have just leaked online. According to a new report, the Mi5 will be launched in July, along with an improved Mi5 Plus version.

Quad HD display and 4GB RAM under the hood

The first flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi5, is said to sport a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display. The handset will be equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

On the back, the Mi5 will pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, but there's no telling what kind of front-facing camera it will boast. We also know that Xiaomi Mi5 will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and that it might feature fingerprint scanner.

Next in line, Xiaomi Mi5 Plus is said to boast a much larger 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

In addition, the handset will pack the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM and 16-megapixel camera on the back with OIS (optical image stabilization).

It's also worth mentioning that both Xiaomi smartphones are expected to ship with the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box.
